Review roundup: What are people saying about Glass Casa?

We’ve written plenty about Glass Casa, the comedy murder mystery feature from writer/director Laa Marcus that hit streaming services late last year. From breaking down a few of our favorite scenes, taking a deep dive into the beautiful location, and chatting with many of the talented cast, crew and creative team members who brought the film to life, we’ve shared a ton of thoughts on the film.

But what do other folks have to say? We gathered Glass Casa reviews from around the web to show you what stands out most to viewers, and what makes the film one of the best comedy mystery movies out there!

People love our cast

We’re incredibly proud of our entire cast, and so happy their work in the film has been recognized through nominations and wins for awards like Best Ensemble Cast, Best Supporting Actress for Nicole Clifford, and Best Supporting Actor for Justin Michael Terry  at the San Diego Film Awards; Best Supporting Actor for Anthony de la Cruz at Indie Vegas Film Festival; and Best Actress in a Lead Role for Harley Bronwyn at Kansas City Filmfest International.

But what makes us really smile? Hearing how much our audiences love them, too!

Pramit Chatterjee of Film Fugitives says:

“The entire cast of Glass Casa is brilliant. Harley Bronwyn is so good as the protagonist. The way she portrays her character’s disillusionment is just great. Nicole Clifford “tripping balls” is, to be honest, Oscar-worthy. It’s tough to convincingly pull off the effects of acid without any of those fancy digital effects and whatnot, but Clifford makes it look like a walk in the park. All of her overdramatic, Shakespearean outbursts are amazing. Also, props to her for doing the entire movie in that dragon costume (or whatever animal it was supposed to be) while the rest of the cast got to change outfits. Geri Courtney-Austein’s whole “I’m on the brink of freaking out, but I’m willing to do anything to save my friends” act is excellent. Everyone deserves a friend like Evie. Alison Iles, as the mother of the group and the voice of reason, is splendid. Jon Huybrecht and his dance moves are laudable. Anthony De La Cruz’s cameo is fine. Justin Michael Terry almost steals the spotlight with his laid-back and unpredictable performance. That said, it’s Travis Laughlin who gets to hog the limelight, and rightfully so. The guy oozes charisma. His dialogue delivery is stunning.”

Romey Norton of Film Focus Online says:

“The characters are fun and the actors have strong chemistry, complementing one another equally. Everyone has perfect timing…”

randavids says in their IMDb review:

“The film is anchored by a talented ensemble cast, including a stand out performance by Harley Bronwyn as the intense yet charismatic bride to be, as well as strong performances by Geri Courtney-Austein as the bubbly paranoid Evie, Nicole Clifford as the sharp-witted schemer, Alison Iles as the conflicted voice of reason, and Justin Michael Terry as their goofy wise cracking guy pal Charlie. Not to mention, a strong supporting cast of eccentric characters…”

The story keeps you guessing

If you love a twist (or two!) and like your stories to be anything but predictable, Glass Casa is the dark comedy murder mystery for you. But don’t take our word for it!

Linakatz-92446 says in their IMDb review:

“The story kept me on the edge of my seat through the end. Just as you expect things to go a certain way you are hit with an unexpected twist.”

Mike-56491 says in their IMDb review:

“I dare you to predict the ending of this movie. Good luck! The brilliance here is that it takes the murder genre and kinda twists it. Everything feels so common and so familiar, but then it all goes wrong. Very funny (“Did they really just say that?!”) dialogue, and you think you know what’s going to happen, but there are a ton [of] surprises along the way. The writing was fresh and interesting…it sort of creates its own world that takes you on a journey that you didn’t see coming.”

Romey Norton of Film Focus Online says:

“It’s a busy plot, but it is entertaining and will keep you invested and guessing.”

Nutmeg-33548 says in their IMDb review:

“This film gets better and better as it goes on with so many unexpected moments. The dialogue and storyline move quickly with a very unexpected twist and turns.”

It’s got people laughing

The best comedy mystery movies don’t skimp on the “comedy” aspect, so we get a kick out of hearing that Glass Casa has you laughing out loud!

Hchwqx says in their IMDb review:

“This work is a perfect blend of laugh-out-loud humor and gripping suspense, a challenging combination executed brilliantly. The script is exceptionally well-written, featuring sharp, witty dialogue that brings the characters to life while keeping the humor fresh and natural. The pacing is great too, seamlessly transitioning between comedic moments and edge-of-your-seat tension. Each scene feels purposeful, with clever twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. The humor lightens the mood without diminishing the stakes, and the suspense heightens the impact of every joke. A smart, engaging treat that’s both entertaining and memorable!

And Brinnimarcus says in their IMDb review:

“”Glass Casa” is a masterfully crafted dark comedy that brilliantly balances humor and suspense.”
